Ian and Charlotte Pollard have spent nearly 20 years living in the bush, and have been fortunate to raise their sons, Beau and Scout, in this unique environment. They moved to Zambia in 2016, first settling near Liuwa Plain National Park and later in Kafue National Park. After searching for their perfect spot in Africa, they finally found it at Adansonia Farm. Now, Zambia is where they proudly call home.
Adansonia Farm is a 325-hectare property located next to Kafue National Park in Zambia. The farm is regularly visited by elephants, lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, and various species of antelope. Hippos and crocodiles inhabit the nearby Nanzhila River, just beside the cottage. The farm is also home to rare bird species such as Pel’s Fishing Owl, African Fin-foot, and the endemic Black Cheeked Love Bird.
The area is a rich and thriving natural ecosystem, with the Nanzhila River flowing along its boundary, diverse Miombo and climax Mopane bushlands. Adansonia Farm is committed to preserving the land in its most natural state, protecting the remaining wild spaces in Africa.
To provide a retreat for their family and friends, there is a cozy two-bedroom cottage on the property. Additionally, they are developing sustainable community initiatives, such as apiculture, establishing a nursery for edible fruit trees and valuable timber species, which will be replanted in the region.
